Terms of Service

These Terms of Service apply to purchases made through Tiers of Joy and tiersofjoytx.com. By placing an order with us, you agree to the terms below.

Our Products

Tiers of Joy creates handcrafted tiered stands using new, vintage, and customer-supplied china, ceramics, porcelain, glass, pottery, and other suitable pieces.

Because many of our products are handmade and incorporate vintage or previously manufactured pieces, variations in color, pattern, finish, size, age, and condition are normal and part of the unique character of each piece.

Custom Heirloom Orders

By placing a custom order, you authorize Tiers of Joy to permanently alter the pieces you provide in order to create your tiered stand. This process may include drilling, assembly, and other modifications that cannot be reversed.

Customers are responsible for selecting and sending the pieces they would like transformed and for confirming that they have the authority to alter those pieces.

Custom orders are prepaid and become final and non-refundable once production begins.

Customer-Supplied China & Risk of Breakage

We understand that the pieces entrusted to us may carry significant sentimental value, and we handle every item with great care.

However, china, porcelain, ceramic, pottery, and glass are inherently fragile. Drilling and transforming these materials carries an unavoidable risk of cracking, chipping, or breakage, even when professional equipment and careful techniques are used.

By submitting pieces to Tiers of Joy, you acknowledge and accept these inherent risks.

Tiers of Joy cannot guarantee against breakage and is not responsible for the replacement or monetary value of customer-supplied pieces, including antique, vintage, discontinued, sentimental, inherited, or otherwise irreplaceable items.

We also reserve the right to decline to drill or alter a piece if we determine that doing so presents an unreasonable risk of damage.

Shipping Customer-Supplied Pieces

Customers who do not purchase a Tiers of Joy Shipping Kit are responsible for safely packaging and shipping their pieces to our studio.

Optional Shipping Kits include protective packing materials and prepaid shipping labels for the custom-order process.

Customers are responsible for following all provided packing instructions. Tiers of Joy cannot be responsible for inadequate packaging or damage that occurs because packing instructions were not followed.

Turnaround Times

Estimated production and delivery timelines are provided as a courtesy and are not guaranteed.

Custom orders typically require approximately three weeks from the time the customer's pieces are received by our studio. During periods of high demand, production may take longer.

If your order is needed for a specific event or date, please contact us before purchasing so we can discuss timing and availability.

Handmade & Vintage Characteristics

Vintage and antique china may show signs of its history, including light scratches, crazing, fading, utensil marks, manufacturing variations, or other age-related characteristics.

These characteristics are not considered defects.

Because our stands are individually handcrafted, minor variations in positioning, alignment, hardware, and appearance may occur.

Product Use

Tiered stands should be handled with care and lifted from the base rather than by the upper tiers or hardware.

Customers are responsible for determining whether a particular vintage or antique piece is appropriate for direct food contact. Tiers of Joy does not independently test customer-supplied or vintage china for lead, cadmium, or other substances.

Returns, Refunds & Cancellations

Returns, refunds, and cancellations are governed by our Return & Refund Policy.

Custom and personalized products are subject to additional restrictions because they are created specifically for the customer.

Intellectual Property

The Tiers of Joy name, branding, original designs, photographs, product descriptions, graphics, custom hardware designs, and other original content are the property of Tiers of Joy or their respective licensors and may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without permission.

Third-party trademarks, patterns, manufacturer names, and brand names referenced on our website remain the property of their respective owners. Unless expressly stated, such references do not imply affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Tiers of Joy will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the purchase, shipment, transformation, possession, or use of our products or customer-supplied pieces.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited under applicable law.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service periodically. The version posted on our website at the time of purchase will apply to that transaction unless otherwise required by law.
